The JATE app does not collect any data.
The app has no analytics, no telemetry and no crash reporting. It contains no networking code of any kind, so it cannot send anything anywhere — not on launch, not in the background, not ever.
Your documents
Your files are files on your own disk. JATE opens them and saves them. It does not copy them, upload them, index them or transmit them, and it never moves them anywhere you did not put them.
Settings
Preferences — fonts, margins, theme, window positions — are stored locally using the standard macOS preferences system. They stay on your Mac.
Third parties
JATE contains no third-party frameworks, SDKs, analytics libraries or trackers. There is nothing in it that was written by anyone else.
This website
The app and this website are separate things. The app collects nothing, as above. This website uses Google Analytics to count visits, so I can tell whether anyone is finding it. That is aggregate traffic data — pages viewed, rough country, type of device — and it is never linked to anything you do inside the app, because the app cannot talk to the internet at all.
If you would rather not be counted, any content blocker stops it, and the app works exactly the same either way.
If you email me
If you write for support, I will have your email address and whatever you tell me. I use it to answer you and nothing else, and I do not pass it to anyone.
Changes
If this ever stops being true, this page changes first and the change is noted in the app's release notes.
